Engineering a Dynamic Staff Scheduling and Attendance System with Biometric Sync.
The Challenge
Managing shift rotations, attendance logs, and payroll variables for distributed workforces is prone to administrative errors. Workforce Inc. needed a centralized platform to manage schedules, track real-time attendance via IoT biometric terminals, and process automated timesheet summaries.
The Solution
ClarvoTech built the Engagement Workforce Platform using a modern Node.js and React stack. We implemented Socket.io to stream terminal logs from biometric clocks directly to the admin interface. The system processes scheduling rules dynamically using backend worker threads, optimizing timesheet compilation times.
The Process & Implementation
We integrated third-party biometric SDKs to securely sync fingerprint and face logs into a MongoDB cluster. We designed a drag-and-drop scheduling calendar using React components, allowing managers to assign shifts easily. The system compiles automated export reports for payroll providers (such as ADP and Paychex) via GCP Cloud Functions.
